Transatlantic

Welcome to the new Jazz Age! A space where wit, intelligence, bold ideas and fearless modernism meet. In this Age, the transatlantic cruise was an opportunity for the great figures of Modernism to meet and exchange ideas. Inspiration is drawn from those style heroines of the 1920’s, Nancy Cunard and Dorothy Parker. But this collection is definitively addressed to the thoroughly modern needs of the Max Mara woman. Harmony is rooted in contrast. Linear tailoring is offset by the fluidity of silk. Sharp pleats define modernist lines which in turn contrast with naïf floral prints. The climax is a satin gown ‘to ease the heart’ much as Dorothy Parker might have dreamed it.
